My journey with eating disorders began during my late teens and continued through my early twenties. Marked by inadequate care and fundamental flaws in the standard treatment approach, my family and I experienced a huge gap in support. This motivated me to become the therapist I wished I had during my own recovery.

My personal experience, coupled with difficulties accessing care due to long waitlists and ineffective private practitioners, made me realize the urgent need for a modernized Comprehensive Recovery Centre. After practicing as a therapist for a decade, I opened The Centre in 2012 and introduced a fully-virtual format in 2020. Our unique methodology has proven to be the most effective in achieving long term, sustained results.

“Today, with nearly 20 years of experience behind me, I have seen thousands of people struggling with eating disorders reach a full recovery.”

I am also a mom raising two girls. Becoming a mother has given me depth of perception into what parents go through seeing their children suffer. I deeply understand what it means to love your child; I also know the signs to look out for in enabling their struggle. Parents do best when they are able to focus on being parents, and the specific ways we involve parents in their child’s treatment allows them to feel more empowered and less alone.

My team and I look forward to working as the support system that surrounds you and your loved ones. We believe you can live with more ease and freedom, to reach a strong, safe relationship with food and your body.

Yours Truly,
Kyla
